We actually had a Saturday where we were all home for the entire day with nothing going on. It was fantastic. We had such a memory filled day. The morning started out with a big breakfast - sausage, Tanner's famous omelets, and Christmas music playing in the background. After that we put up our Christmas tree. The kids were very involved for the first three layers and then they just wanted to dance, act goofy, and jump off of anything they could (especially Cody on that one). Tanner is in charge of putting the lights on the tree and I put the other decorations on it. Five minutes after we finished putting them up we took down the ornaments that Cody could reach. He broke 4 of them in a matter of minutes. He thought they were balls and that he could throw them. He is worse than any of the other kids as well as the cat. As we set up the Nativity we had a nice devotional where all of the kids actually paid attention as we talked about Jesus and the real meaning of Christmas. After that Daddy took the kids in the hot tub. Devin opted out and instead he was being a Cowboy outside. Cody loved it and was, as always, fearless and wanted to jump into the water. This is one of their favorite things to do with daddy. After that we put up the outside Christmas lights. Cody was helping out by climbing up the ladders with a hammer for Tanner, Devin was asking question after question and telling Tanner what he should do next with which tool. The girls were inside dancing to and singing Christmas songs. Looking away for just a few seconds Cody then decided that he was going to play in the hose. At least it was hot water from the hot tub, but once he stopped dumping all over himself he was freezing. Then we watched a Christmas movie together - Charlie Brown's Christmas. Tanner thought that the kids were very deprived because they don't know who he is. Isn't it wonderful to have days like that. They don't happen very often.
