Raft River

We went to raft river a coup of times this summer. The first time, Grandma Christensen, Kaylee and her friends, Berik, Cory, Kara and Charley, the Hobbs and the Buckley’s went up there. We had a good time, although we did battle wind gusts and chilly weather. The wind would get really bad so we would start packing up and then it got better so we ended up staying there the entire time. The kids didn’t want to get off the slide. We shot the candy cannon, of coarse it was a big hit. Cory was so funny to watch. He kept jumping onto his stomach and looked like a penguin. Then he and Tanner had bright ideas to try and surf down. Cory made it okay, but Tanner biffed it. He ended up fracturing his ribs and tearing up his shoulder. He went in for x-rays and there was nothing to do except wait for it to heal. Our second trip was with the Lewis family for FHE. None of the family had ever been there so we introduced it to them and we all had so much fun. Again, the kids didn’t want to stop. we we shot off the candy cannon (there was a misunderstanding and everyone brought 15 lbs of candy – we could have shot the cannon off three times and still had left over). Great Grandma Lewis went down the slide twice. The second time was with 8 other people on the tube and she fell off with Jacquelyn and Devin. Eeks! No major injuries though. Going with grandpa Lewis meant a lot of competitions/games/races. We had races on the tubes, the tubes against the zip line, timing how long it took to get down the zip line, two people running as fast as they could and then jumping onto the slide – who can make it down first, etc. Fun times!
